I’ve worked in the fitness industry for 5+ years now and strength training is still my favourite training style! As I get older the benefits become more and more important to me such as bone density, muscle growth and development and mental fortitude and focus in and out of the gym. If this isn’t something you’ve tried, then I highly suggest you give this training style a go next time you’re in the gym!
Top 5 benefits of strength training;
Increase muscle mass: Muscle mass naturally decreases with age, but strength training can help prevent this.
Stronger bones: Strength training increases bone density and reduces the risk of fractures.
Joint flexibility: Strength training helps maintain joint flexibility and can reduce the symptoms of arthritis.
Weight control: As you gain muscle, your body begins to burn calories more easily, making it easier to control your weight.
Balance: Strengthening exercises can increase flexibility and balance as people age, reducing falls and injuries.
