Toffee Sauce

Who doesn't love toffee sauce!

We're not claiming this sauce is healthy but it's got some great alternatives to refined sugar.




  • 110g of coconut sugar

  • 2 tbsp cold water

  • 120ml coconut milk

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 4 Dates (pitted)


  1. Put the coconut sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and leave to bubble for 2 minutes

  3. Add the dates to this mixture and let it simmer away on a low heat for a few minutes till the dates are dissolved

  4. Pour in the coconut milk and pinch of salt and stir well.

  5. Once mixed, pour the sauce into a jar and leave to cool and thicken slightly.
